The primary purpose of Recovery in the City is to foster connections among sober individuals in Portland through shared experiences and active engagement in the city’s vibrant culture and community.

To do this, we organize one monthly gathering that’s already connected to a Portland-esque event, such as a parade or celebration.
Each meet-up is public, informal, and welcoming. Each event we attend is free.
You just show up, be yourself, and enjoy the experience—clean and sober, together.

When you see one you’d like to attend, just click the link to fill out a quick Google Form.
That’s it — you’ll get a confirmation and a couple reminder emails before the event.
No pressure—just come when it feels right for you.

Portland’s Soapbox Derby is a fun, creative race where homemade cars speed downhill, bringing the community together in joy and excitement.

Chapman Elementary School
The Chapman Swift Watch celebrates the annual return of thousands of swifts to Portland’s chimney for a lively evening of nature, wonder, and shared awe.
